Where to Park in Grazalema: A Visitor’s Guide

Grazalema, nestled in the heart of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, is a must-visit destination for those exploring the picturesque white villages of Andalusia. Known for its natural beauty and traditional charm, this small village can be a bit tricky to navigate, especially when it comes to parking. This guide will help you find the best places to park in Grazalema and provide directions from major cities to ensure a smooth visit.

Parking Options in Grazalema

Public Parking Lots (Aparcamiento Público)

Grazalema has a couple of designated public parking lots located around the village. These parking areas are ideal for visitors, as they offer easy access to the main attractions while helping to preserve the village’s narrow, historic streets. These carparks are totally free.

Parking Polideportivo: If you are arriving from the direction of Ronda or Malaga and it is a very busy day (or there is a fiesta going on) then just before the petrol station there is limited parking by the sports centre. (Take the right turn signposted for the Villa Turística hotel.) It is just a 5 minute walk up the hill past the petrol station to the village centre.

A week of August day trips in Grazalema

In Grazalema we are spoilt for choices between the myriad of places to visit. During a week of August day trips, a selection of the most diverse took me to historical sites, natural cave formations, a shaded woodland walk, botanic garden (El Bosque), rivers, lakes , a museum (Palacio Mondrago, Ronda) and an early morning walk above the village of Grazalema through the Sierra de Endrinal

Even the lightest breeze is appreciated when you are out and about in the sierras during August. Setting off with sun cream, hat and plenty of chilled water, even late into the afternoons the sun shows little desire to lower in the sky.

The brilliant blue skies of August can be relied upon to form a beautiful backdrop to most images with occasional pure white fluffy clouds offering an interesting colour contrast.
