Where to Park in Grazalema: A Visitor’s Guide

Grazalema, nestled in the heart of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, is a must-visit destination for those exploring the picturesque white villages of Andalusia. Known for its natural beauty and traditional charm, this small village can be a bit tricky to navigate, especially when it comes to parking. This guide will help you find the best places to park in Grazalema and provide directions from major cities to ensure a smooth visit.

Parking Options in Grazalema

Public Parking Lots (Aparcamiento Público)

Grazalema has a couple of designated public parking lots located around the village. These parking areas are ideal for visitors, as they offer easy access to the main attractions while helping to preserve the village’s narrow, historic streets. These carparks are totally free.

Parking Polideportivo: If you are arriving from the direction of Ronda or Malaga and it is a very busy day (or there is a fiesta going on) then just before the petrol station there is limited parking by the sports centre. (Take the right turn signposted for the Villa Turística hotel.) It is just a 5 minute walk up the hill past the petrol station to the village centre.

September in the Sierra de Grazalema is a good time to watch Bee-eaters, Short-toed eagles and Booted eagles on their Southerly migration.

The temperature begins to cool from the searing August heat and, if there is rain, then the ground will soften, giving way from dried straw colours to a soft green as plants sprout anew after their summer dormancy. Some of the flowers we can see now are Round-leaved fluellin, Common ivy, Fennel, Rosemary, White asparagus, Apple mint and Maritime squill. A range of fruits and berries begin to ripen, which can add a surprising splash of colour; Sloe, Blackberry, Hawthorn, Laurustinus, Peony, Turpentine Tree and Strawberry tree.
